This class introduces a range of foundational ceramic techniques, offering both skill-building and creative freedom for each participant.
Students will learn to:
- Construct a serving saucer using a pottery drape mold
- Add raised feet with a clay foot-tool
- Build a mug using slab construction methods
- Form a rounded base with an anvil press mold
- Add a foot ring for stability and refinement
- Create and attach a custom extruded handle
- Use rolling texture tools to create unique surface patterns, ensuring each mug and saucer set is one of a kind
Participants will select from an assortment of studio glazes. All glazing will be completed by our studio staff, and finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately two weeks after class.
This course is beginner-friendly and suitable for ages 10 and up. No prior clay experience is required-just creativity and a willingness to get your hands in the mud.
