The 34th annual Texas Clay Festival will be held in the Gruene Historical District of New Braunfels on October 24 & 25, 2026. Featuring the work of over 80 Texas potters and clay artists, the festival offers the opportunity to view and purchase a wide variety of pottery, from traditional to sculptural by the top clay artists in the state. Come out and enjoy the beauty of what Texas clay artists have to offer!

Pottery Wheel Lesson - A 90 minute lesson on the pottery wheel includes learning beginner wheel skills and making a few forms on the wheel while receiving personalized instructions. Students then return to the studio in about 2 weeks to glaze their pots. All material is provided. Please wear clothes that like to get clay on them and trim fingernails no longer than the end of the fingertip. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Lessons are for individuals or groups up to 6 people.

We are so excited about this activity that is fun for all ages! In this class, paint is applied to the surface of a special water bath. Floating the colors in our custom-built water marbling trays, combs and a stylus are used to create a one of a kind masterpiece silk scarf. The class begins with our artist giving instructions and making the first water marbled scarf to demonstrate multiple design techniques. Cost is $50 for the first scarf and $30 for each additional scarf per person. We prepare the exact amount of material ahead of time for each class. No refunds or credits for cancellations less than 24 hours in advance or for no shows.

Lifting up Artists is the aim of the Austin Avenue Art Fair. We seek to cultivate community and enrich our culture while supporting local artists and musicians. Art evokes something in us, often unexplainable, but also quite wonderful. An art piece can be a reflection of ourselves. When we have art in our lives, our lives are fuller, richer and better.

For this special holiday workshop, you will design and create a beautiful decorative glass art piece that stands up for display. The finished size is about 10.5 inches high and 3 inches wide. Our artists will provide complete instruction for design and guide you through use of the glass cutting tool and assembly. Your project will remain at the studio after class to be fused in our kiln and mounted into a wood base for display. No experience necessary. Recommended for 11 years old and up.
